Fall is in the air! I was lucky the other day because there was actually sun out and no rain. I took the opportunity to take some pictures of my little bug. Hopefully, I will be able to get my little man's hair cut so I can take some of him too.
A few days ago we went on a vacation. It has been so long since we were able to get away and have some time where we could kick back and relax with the kiddos. Little did we know that the vacation would definitely be one to remember...
Okay to really give you a better understanding of this vacation I would have to start from the beginning. Here it goes... a few weeks ago I sold my property and it has been a super long drawn out process. I sold it to my mom so I didn't get as much as I could have for it because I wanted to give her a deal since she gave birth to me and has helped me out so much (Thanks mom if you are reading this). Since everything took a long time I didn't know when the funds would come in so I waited until they came before I was able to book a room. I called the place we normally go to see if they had a room for 2 nights but of course they only had it for one night. So I then called 3 or 4 other places before I found one that actually wasn't as much as our monthly rent *eye roll* and I found one. The pictures of the rooms look nice and it was half the price of all the other rooms. I then booked the two nights and they took the money off my card (30% first then the other when I checked in).
When we got to the hotel we seen it was a little run down on the outside but we were just excited to get into the room and relax. I went into the office to check in and there was a couple being helped ahead of me so I waited for them to be helped. While I was in the office checking in and everything my husband was in the car with the kids to make it easier on me. The other couple went out the door and I stepped up to the front desk and gave the young man my name and information. He took my debit card and ran it for the remainder of the balance for the room and I had to sign some papers about check out and I really didn't read over them because I was just wanting to get in the room and relax. Once I gave the man the paper back he then handed me the keys to the room and told me it was room 1. Which was only about 10 feet away from the office door.
I then signaled to my husband and let him know that I got the keys and we could start unloading the car. I had the keys and in my head I was thinking about how we actually got keys since most motel/hotels use cards now it seemed a little odd but kind of made it feel homey. I put the key in the key hole and started turning it then the door opened as we walked into our room a strong odor followed. It was very strong and unpleasant. I looked at my husband and said what do you think? I was not sure myself what to think but he didn't really say much. As we walked around the room our children was saying how cool it was and how it was a really nice place. However, it was quite the opposite. It was not a nice place it was a horrible place. I could tell that my husband wasn't impressed but he was trying his best to keep a poker face. He didn't want me to feel bad for spending so much on such a dump. As we looked around we started noticing more and more wrong with the room. If you looked on the ceiling you would see a hole that was probably as big around as a basketball and it looked like it was taped up and then pained over. There were around 5 or more what looked like pee stains on the carpet. Then my husband sat in one of the chairs and it broke. However, those were not the only things the one of the beds had what looked like a blood stain on the top covers.
That was the last straw we packed up all of our stuff loaded it into our car and I walked into the office. I handed that man the keys and asked for my money back. He then responded saying that he would have to talk to the manager before he could give me any money. I asked him to just call the manager and he then told me she is in a meeting that but we is expected to get out of the meeting in about 30 minutes and he would have her call me.
We waited around for a bit but I wanted to find another place if we even could and then get some food. I then get a hold of the first hotel that I called when I first started looking for rooms for the vacation and ended up getting a room. We went and checked into the room and it was such a good little room and everything was clean.
Keep and eye out for part two and I will let you know if we ended up getting our money back from the dirty hotel... To be Continued...
